This act was introduced in 1984. It gives rights, to people who have information about them stored on computer systems. The act was updated 14 years later to register the increasing flow of computer users and the changes in european law. The data from the subject is held by an organisation and they are allowed to examine it at any time. If any company breaks the law they will be fined and will have to pay the person who's information they gave away.
